That’s an ordinary evening when you join Crawl Street Tavern as a Cook for your Work & Travel USA adventure. This is a busy, high-energy tavern in one of Maryland’s most iconic beach towns – and the kitchen is where the magic happens.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Cook, you’ll be a key player in a fast-paced professional kitchen serving hungry beachgoers, families and locals all season long. Your day-to-day will include:

• Preparing and cooking classic American tavern dishes – burgers, wings, seafood baskets, sandwiches and more
• Working the grill, fryer and prep stations during busy summer service
• Setting up your station, prepping ingredients and portioning items before service
• Following recipes, plating standards and portion control to keep quality consistent
• Maintaining strict food safety, sanitation and hygiene standards
• Cleaning equipment, work surfaces and helping to close down the kitchen
• Communicating clearly with servers, bartenders and fellow kitchen staff

What You’ll Earn & Enjoy

• $16.50 per hour – a strong, reliable wage for the season
• 40 guaranteed hours per week, with the potential for extra hours during peak weeks

Who We’re Looking For

• University students aged 18–25 eligible for the Work & Travel USA (J-1) program
• Conversational English – enough to follow tickets and communicate with the team
• Previous kitchen or cooking experience is a big plus (home cooking counts if you’re passionate and fast!)
• Ability to stand for long shifts and work in a hot, busy kitchen environment
• Reliable, punctual, hardworking and a genuine team player
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn new recipes and techniques
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends and holidays
