The price of a flight to the USA depends mainly on where you need to travel. Tickets to cities such as New York, Boston and Chicago are the cheapest, while flights to the West Coast or Alaska cost more, being further away.

Standard payment for the programme
When you sign up you pay a small initial instalment – a deposit of $199.
You make the next payments only once you have found a job and it is time to issue your visa documents. That way you can plan your budget more easily at every stage.
You choose how to make each payment – by card or in cash at our office, or by bank transfer.
Programme and flight ticket in instalments
If you choose the Sponsor Assisted Job Interview option and prefer to pay equal monthly instalments from sign-up until departure, this is for you.
- PROGRAMME: you sign up with a $199 deposit and pay equal instalments towards the programme fee each month until you leave.
- FLIGHT TICKET: you can also pay for this in instalments, the first falling a month after you sign up.
- Government fees are paid when the authorities require them.
Instalments for the programme and the ticket are calculated from your sign-up month and the price at that time. There is no surcharge for paying in instalments.
Programme financing from Usit Colours
If you choose the Sponsor Assisted Job Interview option and would like to pay part of the cost later, you can apply for financing from Usit. Once approved, you sign up for the programme and pay the first instalment of $199, and then:
- You pay the remainder of the programme price and the financing costs in three instalments, in July, August and September.
- If you wish, you can also pay for your flight ticket on credit, again over three instalments.
- Visa fees are paid from your own funds when the authorities require them.
Places for Usit Colours financing are limited and the option is available until they run out. Ask at any of our offices for details.
The Work and Travel USA 2027 summer program with Usit
We offer Work & Travel 2027 in two versions:Self Arranged Job – you can sign up for the program if you have secured your own job offer or to choose the Sponsor Assisted Job Interview option and to participate in the interviews with US employers.
The medical insurance included in the price of Work and Travel USA 2027 covers the maximum permitted stay of five months, not just the working period. That saves you extra costs for the tourist month.
For your peace of mind we offer an additional extra – Easy Program Cancellation, which protects your money if your plans change.
Here are the advantages of signing up early
A place on the program
Work and Travel USA has quotas set by the US State Department, and you can only sign up while the quota lasts.
A lower price
The earlier you sign up, the lower the price of your Work and Travel program. As time goes on, prices rise.
Document processing
Signing up early puts you among the first whose documents are processed and ready, and among the first to get a visa interview date.
Job offers
You will have the widest choice of job offers. The first virtual interviews with American employers take place as early as December.
Flight ticket
You will be able to buy your flight ticket at the lowest possible price – the sooner you know exactly where and when you are travelling, the more seats there are on the cheapest flights.

What does the whole thing actually cost, with absolutely everything included?
The total investment ranges between €2,400 and €2,900, depending on whether you choose the programme with a job offer or without. The flight ticket is the other cost, and it can vary considerably with dates and destinations. The amount includes:
Administrative service from Usit Colours and the sponsor in arranging your place on the programme.
Reserving your place on the programme and issuing the DS-2019 certificate.
Attending a job interview arranged by our American partners if you choose Sponsor Assisted Job Interview, or a check of your job offer if you sign up finding the job yourself.
The SEVIS government fee and the visa interview fee.

Should I set aside any other money around departure?
Yes, it is wise to have around $1,000 to cover your costs in the USA before your first paycheck. In practice your spending will probably be well below that, since you will most likely already have paid a housing deposit, and rent for the first two weeks is very often deducted straight from your wages.
Does when I sign up affect the final price of the program?
Yes, enormously – signing up early means you pay a lower price for the program.
- If you sign up in October or November, the programme price is at its lowest; over the following months it rises by $200-$300.
- It also matters for flights: booking earlier guarantees more choice and better fares.
- Signing up early is also an investment in a wider choice of job offers – as time goes on, the most attractive ones fill up and are no longer available.
What do I pay straight away and what can I pay later?
There are several ways to pay the programme fee:
· The amount is not paid all at once but split into stages – you sign up with a deposit, and the following instalments fall due according to the stage of the programme you have reached.
· You pay the programme in equal monthly instalments, the size of which depends on the month you signed up. You can use this option for the flight ticket too.
· Dedicated financing – we have developed special funding for our participants, covering the programme and the flight ticket. You sign up with a deposit and only start paying instalments once you are in the USA and have received your first few paychecks. This is not a bank product but entirely our own service. You can get more details at any of our offices.
How much is retained if I am refused a visa?
This is one of participants’ biggest worries.
For your security we offer a programme option – Easy Program Cancellation. With it you are guaranteed that if your visa is refused or your plans change, the main part of the amounts paid will be refunded, with only the initial deposit retained.
