HAP Anchorage Transportation Division is looking for energetic university students to join their hospitality team as Luggage Handlers for the Summer to Fall season. If you want a Work & Travel USA experience that is truly different from the classic beach or big-city placement, Alaska is calling.
About the Position
As a Luggage Handler you are the first friendly face guests meet when they arrive in Anchorage. You will be part of a fast-moving transportation team that keeps tour groups, cruise passengers and travellers moving smoothly across one of America’s most spectacular destinations.
- Loading and unloading guest luggage from motorcoaches, vans and hotel lobbies
- Sorting, tagging and tracking bags to make sure every suitcase reaches the right room or vehicle
- Assisting guests with directions, arrival information and a warm welcome
- Working closely with drivers, front desk staff and tour directors
- Keeping luggage storage and loading areas safe, organised and tidy
Pay & Working Conditions
- Hourly rate: $16.00 per hour
- Hours: approximately 35 hours per week
- Tips: Yes – guests are generous, and tips can meaningfully boost your weekly earnings
- Season: Summer to Fall – one of the longest Work & Travel seasons available
- Industry: Hospitality / Transportation

Requirements
- Current university student, aged 18–25, eligible for the J-1 Work & Travel USA programme
- Good conversational English and a friendly, guest-focused attitude
- Good physical condition – you will be lifting bags (up to approx. 23 kg / 50 lbs) and standing for long periods
- Reliability, punctuality and a strong team spirit
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Availability for the full Summer to Fall period
