Imagine finishing your shift and walking straight to a beach on Martha’s Vineyard, one of the most iconic summer islands in New England. Nautilus Trading in charming Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts is looking for energetic international university students to join their team as Cashiers/Stockers for the summer-to-fall season. If you want a classic American island summer with a strong paycheck, this is your job.

Your Role: Cashier / Stocker

You’ll be the friendly face customers remember and the reliable hands that keep the store running smoothly. Day to day, you will:

• Operate the cash register (POS system), process cash and card payments accurately
• Greet and assist customers, answer product questions and give recommendations
• Receive, unpack and check deliveries
• Stock and rotate shelves, price and label products, and keep displays attractive and full
• Maintain a clean, tidy and welcoming sales floor and checkout area
• Support your teammates during busy island peak hours

Pay & Schedule

• Hourly rate: $20.00 per hour
• Hours: approximately 35 hours per week
• Season: Summer through Fall – one of the longer Work & Travel placements available
• Tips: Not applicable for this position – your solid hourly wage is guaranteed

Requirements

• Full-time university student, age 18–25, eligible for the Work & Travel USA J-1 program
• Conversational to good English – you’ll be talking with customers all day
• Friendly, positive attitude and a genuine willingness to help people
• Ability to stand for your shift and lift/move stock boxes (up to ~15–20 kg)
• Reliable, punctual and comfortable working weekends and holidays
• Available from summer through the fall season

Martha’s Vineyard is an island, so housing is limited and in high demand – start your housing search early with your Work & Travel agency. Most students get around by bicycle, scooter or the island’s public bus (VTA), so no car is needed.
