The Kimpton Sylvan Hotel in Northeast Atlanta is looking for energetic international students to join its food & beverage team as Server Assistants for the Summer to Fall season.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting servers in the restaurant, rooftop bar, and poolside dining areas
  • Setting, clearing, and resetting tables quickly and neatly between guests
  • Refilling water, delivering bread, and running food and drinks to tables
  • Polishing glassware, silverware, and keeping service stations fully stocked
  • Greeting guests with a smile and answering simple questions about the menu
  • Helping the team keep the dining spaces spotless and guest-ready at all times
  • Communicating with the kitchen and bar to make sure orders flow smoothly

Pay & Hours

  • Hourly rate: $15.00 per hour
  • Tips: Yes – tip share on top of your hourly wage, which can significantly boost your weekly earnings, especially during busy rooftop and weekend shifts
  • Hours: Approximately 32 hours per week
  • Season: Summer to Fall

  • University students aged 18–25 with a valid J-1 Work & Travel visa
  • Conversational English – you'll be speaking with guests every shift

  • Ability to stay on your feet during a busy shift and work at a fast pace
  • Team players who are reliable, punctual, and open to learning
  • Neat, professional appearance in line with hotel grooming standards
  • Previous restaurant or hotel experience is a plus, but full training is provided

Ready to swap lecture halls for the buzzing kitchens of one of Atlanta's most stylish boutique hotels? The Kimpton Sylvan Hotel, managed by HEI Hotels & Resorts, is looking for energetic international students to join its culinary support team as Stewards this Summer to Fall season. Located in the leafy, upscale Buckhead area of Northeast Atlanta, Georgia, the Sylvan is a mid-century-inspired retreat known for its rooftop bar, award-winning restaurants and warm Southern hospitality.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Steward, you are the heartbeat of the back-of-house operation — the person who keeps the kitchen running smoothly so the chefs can shine. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Operating the commercial dishwashing machine and hand-washing pots, pans and kitchen equipment
  • Keeping kitchen areas, floors, storage rooms and work stations clean, organized and up to health & safety standards
  • Sorting and delivering clean china, glassware, silverware and cookware to the kitchen and restaurant outlets
  • Assisting with deliveries, stocking supplies and basic food prep support when needed
  • Managing trash, recycling and waste disposal in line with hotel procedures
  • Working as part of a fast-paced, supportive team of chefs, cooks and stewards
