Imagine waking up to crisp pine-scented air, spending your days off hiking granite peaks in Acadia National Park, and watching the sunrise from Cadillac Mountain – the first place in the United States to catch the morning light. As a Front Desk Attendant at Kampgrounds of America (KOA) Terramor Outdoor Resort, this is your everyday reality.

Terramor is not your average campground. It’s an upscale glamping resort where luxury safari-style tents meet the wild beauty of coastal Maine. Guests come here for an unforgettable outdoor escape – and you’ll be the very first friendly face that welcomes them.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Greeting arriving guests with a warm smile and handling check-ins and check-outs
  • Answering phone calls, emails and reservation inquiries
  • Processing payments and managing the resort’s booking system
  • Sharing insider tips about Acadia National Park, local trails, lobster shacks and Bar Harbor attractions
  • Coordinating with housekeeping, maintenance and activities teams
  • Handling guest requests and solving small problems with a positive attitude
  • Keeping the front desk and welcome area clean, organized and inviting

Why Bar Harbor, Maine?

Bar Harbor is one of New England’s most beloved summer destinations – a charming coastal town of colorful storefronts, whale-watching boats, blueberry pie and world-famous lobster rolls. It sits right at the gateway to Acadia National Park, with over 250 km of hiking trails, carriage roads for cycling, rocky beaches and postcard-perfect sunsets over Frenchman Bay.

Your summer to fall placement means you’ll also experience the beginning of the legendary New England foliage season, when the forests explode into red, orange and gold. Very few Work & Travel participants get to see this – you will.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $17.00 per hour – one of the strongest rates in the program
  • 36 hours per week guaranteed, with a stable and predictable schedule
  • Work for KOA, one of the most recognized hospitality brands in North America – excellent for your CV and future references
  • Real hospitality, customer service and reservation-system experience
  • An international team and a genuinely fun, outdoorsy work culture
  • Free time to explore Acadia, Bar Harbor and the coast of Maine

Who We’re Looking For

  • University students aged 18–25 enrolled in the Work & Travel USA program
  • Good conversational English – you’ll be talking with guests all day
  • Friendly, outgoing and genuinely happy to help people
  • Reliable, punctual and comfortable working weekends and holidays
  • Basic computer skills; hospitality experience is a plus but not required
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn – full training is provided
