Live and Work Inside Olympic National Park

Imagine finishing your shift and soaking in natural mineral hot springs surrounded by ancient rainforest. At Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort, operated by Aramark Destinations, that’s just an ordinary evening. Tucked deep inside Olympic National Park near Port Angeles, Washington, this legendary resort welcomes travellers from all over the world — and this summer, you can be part of the team that makes it happen.

This is a Work & Travel USA opportunity built for adventurous university students who want more than a city job. You’ll earn $17.75 per hour, work approximately 32 hours per week, and spend your season in one of the most spectacular natural settings in North America.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Back of House Resort Worker, you’re the engine that keeps the resort running smoothly behind the scenes. Your day-to-day duties may include:

  • Washing dishes, pots, pans and kitchen equipment using commercial dishwashing machines
  • Assisting cooks with basic food prep — washing, peeling, chopping and portioning
  • Keeping kitchen areas, storage rooms and work stations clean, organised and sanitary
  • Receiving deliveries, stocking shelves and rotating inventory
  • Taking out rubbish, recycling and supporting general resort housekeeping tasks as needed
  • Following all food safety, hygiene and workplace safety standards
  • Supporting your teammates during busy service periods with a positive, can-do attitude

Why Port Angeles & the Olympic Peninsula?

The Olympic Peninsula is a bucket-list destination — three ecosystems in one park. On your days off you can:

  • Hike to Sol Duc Falls, one of the most photographed waterfalls in Washington (just minutes from the resort)
  • Explore the mossy, otherworldly Hoh Rain Forest
  • Watch the sunset over the Pacific at Rialto Beach and La Push
  • Drive up to Hurricane Ridge for panoramic mountain views
  • Take a ferry from Port Angeles to Victoria, Canada, or head to Seattle for a weekend city fix
  • Visit Forks — yes, the town from Twilight — for a fun photo stop

Benefits & Perks

  • $17.75 per hour — a strong wage for the region
  • Approximately 32 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours during peak season
  • Employer-arranged on-site housing and staff meal options (details provided by the employer)
  • Free or discounted access to resort amenities, including the famous hot spring pools
  • An international team — make friends from around the globe
  • Real US hospitality experience with Aramark, a global brand that looks great on your CV
  • A Summer to Fall season, so you catch both the sunny peak and the gorgeous autumn colours

What We’re Looking For

  • University students aged 18–25 eligible for the Work & Travel USA J-1 programme
  • Conversational English — enough to understand instructions and work with a team
  • Physical stamina: you’ll be standing, lifting and moving throughout your shift
  • Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic
  • Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Comfort living in a remote natural setting with limited mobile signal and internet
  • A friendly, team-first personality and genuine enthusiasm for the outdoors

Ready for the Season of Your Life?

Jobs inside US national parks are limited and fill fast every year. If you want a summer of waterfalls, hot springs, mountain air and international friendships — plus a solid paycheque — apply now for the Resort Worker (Back of House) position at Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort.
