At Beach Rider Amusements, located inside the famous Barefoot Landing entertainment complex in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, you won’t just have a summer job – you’ll be part of thousands of families’ favourite vacation memories.
We’re looking for energetic, friendly and reliable university students to join our team as Ride Operators for the Summer to Fall season. If you love people, music, sunshine and a fast-paced environment, this is your spot.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Safely operating amusement rides and attractions following strict safety procedures
- Greeting guests, checking tickets and wristbands, and managing queue lines
- Securing restraints, checking height and safety requirements for each rider
- Giving clear, friendly safety instructions over the microphone
- Keeping ride areas clean, organized and looking their best
- Answering guest questions about the park, attractions and Barefoot Landing
- Helping with opening and closing procedures and daily safety inspections
Compensation & Benefits
- $12.00 per hour – solid, reliable pay from day one
- Tips included – guests love to reward friendly operators, boosting your weekly earnings
- 35 guaranteed hours per week, with the possibility of extra hours during peak season

What We’re Looking For
- University students aged 18–25 on a valid J-1 Work & Travel visa
- Conversational English – you’ll speak with guests all day
- A positive, outgoing attitude and a big smile
- Ability to stand for long periods and work outdoors in warm, sunny weather
- Reliability, punctuality and a strong safety mindset
- Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays – that’s when the fun happens!
- Willingness to stay through the Fall season
