About the employer
Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom is one of the largest amusement parks in the northeastern USA, located in Allentown, Pennsylvania. It is a Cedar Fair park, part of Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, covering over 200 acres with nearly 100 rides and attractions, seven roller coasters and a large waterpark.
The park hires around 3,000 seasonal employees each year, so you'll be part of a very diverse team and practise your English every day. Inexpensive housing is available at a nearby college campus, and when you're not working you get free admission to the park and other local amusement parks, plus employer-organised events. New York City, Philadelphia and Atlantic City are about 90 minutes away.
The job as Food & Beverage Associate
What you'll do
- Interact with park guests to collect and process food orders
- Input sales on a Point of Sale register
- Process electronic payments
- Prepare and cook various food items using fryers, grills and ovens
- Serve food orders to park guests
- Maintain cleanliness of work area, including washing dishes and cleaning floors and other areas in the food area
- Help keep dining spaces and patios clean
- Perform other customer service related duties as assigned

Housing
Housing is employer-arranged: you live in a dormitory room at Cedar Crest College, sharing with one roommate the whole time. Each floor has a group kitchen, bathrooms and TV/lounge area, plus free laundry in the building and WiFi. You provide your own pillow and bedding. In mid-August you move to a local hotel within driving distance of the park, sharing a room, bathroom, mini refrigerator and TV with a roommate.
