Job duties
- Sets up banquet function tables and break tables with required items according to property standards.
- Prepares, organizes and pre-sets all non-entree items to be used during the banquet including coffee, bread, butter, condiments etc.
- Serves food & beverage to banquet and/or meeting break guests in a friendly and professional manner to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Garnishes and decorates dishes preparatory to serving.
- Observes diners to respond to any additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed.
- Ladles soup, tosses salads, portions pies and desserts, brews coffee, completes side work and performs other services as required.
- Clears, resets tables and properly stores banquet items at conclusion of each course/banquet.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Busperson, you’re the heartbeat of the dining and service areas. Your day-to-day will include:
- Clearing, cleaning and resetting tables quickly and neatly between guests
- Restocking glassware, cutlery, plates, napkins and condiments
- Supporting servers and kitchen staff during busy breakfast and evening service
- Keeping dining areas, service stations and beverage counters spotless
- Assisting with dish handling, light food prep support and stocking supplies
- Greeting guests with a smile and answering simple questions about the hotel
The Numbers
- Pay: $18.00 per hour
- Hours: 35 hours per week (tips not included in this role)
- Season: Summer through Fall
- Location: Bozeman, Montana
- Industry: Hospitality / Hotel
At $18 an hour — well above the typical entry-level rate in many U.S. states — you’ll have solid earnings to cover your living costs and still save for that post-season road trip to Seattle, Denver or Las Vegas.
What We’re Looking For
- University student aged 18–25 eligible for the J-1 Work & Travel USA visa
- Conversational English — enough to understand instructions and greet guests
- A positive, team-first attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to stand, walk and lift trays for the duration of a shift
- Reliability, punctuality and a clean, professional appearance
- Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
No previous hospitality experience is required — full training is provided. What matters most is your energy and your smile.
