Imagine finishing your shift, grabbing your backpack and hiking to a glacier that’s only 20 minutes from your front door. As a Fleet Detailer with HAP Juneau Transportation Division, you’ll be part of the team that keeps Alaska’s most iconic sightseeing fleet spotless for thousands of visiting travelers – and you’ll spend your free time exploring one of the wildest, most beautiful capital cities on Earth.
This is a hands-on, active role for students who like visible results, a supportive crew and a paycheck that grows over an extended summer-to-fall season.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Washing, rinsing and hand-drying motorcoaches, shuttles and support vehicles
- Vacuuming interiors, wiping down seats, windows, handrails and driver areas
- Cleaning windows to crystal-clear standards so guests never miss a whale sighting
- Removing trash and restocking vehicle supplies between tours
- Reporting damage, low fluids or maintenance needs to supervisors and mechanics
- Keeping the wash bay, yard and equipment organized, safe and tidy
- Supporting the transportation team during busy cruise-ship arrival days
Pay & Benefits
- $16.00 per hour – solid, dependable earnings
- 35 hours per week guaranteed schedule, with a long summer-to-fall season
- Extended contract dates mean more total earnings than a typical short summer job
- Training provided – no previous detailing experience required

What We’re Looking For
- University students aged 18–25 with valid J-1 Work & Travel sponsorship
- Conversational English and a friendly, team-first attitude
- Comfortable working outdoors in Alaska’s cool, rainy weather
- Ability to stand, bend, reach and lift for the duration of a shift
- Reliability, punctuality and attention to detail – shiny buses are the goal!
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings and weekends as tours require
