What You’ll Be Doing
As the first face guests see, you’ll be the heart of the inn’s hospitality experience. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming guests at check-in and processing check-outs efficiently and warmly
- Answering phone calls, emails and walk-in inquiries about rooms, rates and availability
- Managing reservations in the property management system and handling payments
- Recommending local beaches, restaurants, attractions and events to curious travelers
- Coordinating with housekeeping and maintenance to keep guest rooms in top shape
- Resolving guest questions and requests with a calm, friendly, solution-focused attitude
- Keeping the lobby and front desk area tidy, organized and inviting
Life in Old Orchard Beach
Your free time will be anything but boring. Swim and sunbathe on the beach, ride the roller coaster at Palace Playland, watch fireworks over the pier on Thursday nights, try fried dough and fresh lobster rolls, and join the huge community of international students who make OOB their summer home. What We’re Looking For
- University students aged 18–25 eligible for the Work & Travel USA program
- Good conversational English – you’ll be talking with guests all day
- A friendly, positive personality and a genuine desire to help people
- Reliability, punctuality and a professional appearance
- Basic computer skills; previous hospitality or customer service experience is a plus (but not required)
- Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as scheduled
