The Historic Depot is part of the Mackinaw Hotel Management group of hotels and restaurants in Mackinaw City, Michigan. It sits on the site of former railroad tracks, in the centre of the Mackinaw Crossing Shopping Center and right in the heart of town, close to restaurants, shops and the ferry terminals to Mackinac Island.

Mackinaw City is small but a busy summer tourist destination, with events every weekend. The job as Host
What you'll do
- Ensure guests are made comfortable and kept informed of the status of their orders or wait times
- Monitor the open dining sections of the restaurant for empty and cleaned tables
- Estimate wait times for guests
- Monitor the guest waiting list
- Ensure that the needs of the guests are met while they are waiting
- Answer the telephone
- Book reservations
- Move tables together to accommodate large parties

Housing
The employer provides dorm-style housing at the Capri or Trails End in Mackinaw City, with 2 employees per room and a bathroom shared with roommates or suite mates. There is a shared kitchen with stove and sink, on-site laundry and WiFi in common areas. Bedding, a dresser, hanging rack, small refrigerator, lamps and end tables are included; you bring your own cooking utensils and cleaning supplies. Both buildings are within walking distance of all work sites.
