The Red Box Car Restaurant is a small restaurant in the mountain town of Red Lodge, Montana, serving burgers and ice cream since 1972. The town sits close to Yellowstone National Park, one of the most famous nature destinations in the USA.
You would work as a Cook, using the grill or fryer, making burgers, prepping ingredients, bagging food, restocking inventory and keeping your work area clean. Overtime is usually available, and the employer provides affordable housing and food at a 75% discount. Through the summer they also organise group activities such as hiking, fishing trips and sightseeing in Yellowstone.
The job as Kitchen Staff
What you'll do
- Preparing meats, vegetables, and sauces for the day
- Cooking burgers on a flat top griddle
- Using a deep fryer for fries and other items
- Making ice cream cones, milkshakes, etc.
- Cooking already prepared fried items
- Cleaning up at the end of the day, including dish washing, general cleanup, and mopping the floor

The employer provides housing: an apartment in town within walking distance of work, and staying there is required.
