About the employer
Xanterra Yellowstone National Park is part of the Xanterra Travel Collection and operates in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming – the world's first national park. The park features over 1,000 miles of hiking trails, mountains, rivers and streams, wildlife, geysers and hot springs.
You'll live and work in one of the 6 remote villages inside the park, alongside other Work and Travel students and employees from the United States. Each village has its own Employee Dining Room and recreational activities. The jobs are similar to many other places in the U.S., but the setting is truly special – right in the middle of the wilderness.
The job as Hospitality Crew
What you'll do
- Dishwashing
- Preparing food
- Cleaning the kitchen
- Serving food in employee & guest cafeterias
- Cleaning hotel rooms and guest areas
- Removing dirty towels, sheets, and pillowcases for laundry
- Replacing clean linens back into room
- Cleaning rugs and furniture with a vacuum cleaner
- Dusting furniture and equipment
- Emptying trash cans and cleaning them inside and out
- Cleaning floors with brooms/mops
- Using chemical-based products to clean tubs, sinks, countertops, mirrors, toilets, and shower curtains
- Replacing trash bags, soaps, bathroom items, and other supplies
- Transporting all trash to appropriate dumpsters or recycling areas
What is required
Pay and hours
Housing
Housing is employer-provided and required: dorms or cabins shared by 2 to 4 employees, with a shared bathroom down the hall, or for some cabins in a comfort station a short walk away. Laundry machines, uniforms, blankets and sheets are included – bring your own towel and pillow. Quiet hours are 10:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m., with housing staff and security on site.
