Imagine starting your shift with a view of impossibly blue water framed by ancient volcanic cliffs. At ExplorUS Crater Lake, that’s just another Tuesday. We’re looking for energetic university students to join our hospitality team as Hosts for the Summer to Fall season in Crater Lake National Park, Oregon — one of the most breathtaking places you’ll ever call your workplace.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Host, you’re the face of the guest experience. Your day-to-day includes:

• Greeting and welcoming guests with genuine warmth and enthusiasm
• Managing the seating chart, waitlists, and reservations during busy service periods
• Escorting guests to their tables and presenting menus
• Answering questions about the menu, the park, hiking trails, and local attractions
• Keeping the entrance and host station clean, organized, and inviting
• Coordinating with servers and kitchen staff to keep service flowing smoothly
• Assisting with light cleaning, table resets, and closing duties

Why Crater Lake?

Crater Lake is the deepest lake in the United States (592 meters!) and famous worldwide for its almost surreal sapphire-blue water, formed inside a collapsed volcano nearly 7,700 years ago. On your days off you can hike the Garfield Peak Trail, cycle the 53 km Rim Drive, take a boat tour to Wizard Island, stargaze under some of the darkest skies in America, and spot deer, eagles, and even black bears. Southern Oregon also puts you within reach of Bend, Portland, and the Pacific coast for weekend adventures.

• Hours: 35 hours per week (overtime possible during peak season)

• University students aged 18–25 eligible for the Work & Travel USA program (J-1 visa)
• Conversational to good English communication skills
• A friendly, outgoing personality — you genuinely enjoy talking to people
• Ability to stand and move for extended periods
• Reliability, punctuality, and a positive team attitude
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Comfortable living in a remote, nature-focused environment
