Why Bar Harbor?

Bar Harbor is one of the most beautiful summer destinations on the U.S. East Coast. Located on Mount Desert Island, it offers dramatic Atlantic coastline, sunrise views from Cadillac Mountain, kayaking, whale watching, cycling on the historic carriage roads, and a charming downtown full of cafés, ice-cream shops and souvenir stores. Millions of visitors come here every summer – and you’ll get to call it home.

The season also stretches into fall, meaning you may witness New England’s world-famous autumn foliage, when the forests turn red, orange and gold. It’s one of the most photographed natural spectacles in America.
