House person
Your American Summer Starts in Old Orchard Beach, Maine
Imagine finishing your shift, grabbing your towel, and walking straight onto a seven-mile stretch of golden sand. That’s everyday life at King Real Estate Seabreeze Suites, a friendly boutique hospitality property in the heart of Old Orchard Beach, Maine – one of New England’s most beloved summer destinations. We’re hiring international university students for the House Person position from Summer through Fall.
About the Role
As a House Person, you are the backbone of the guest experience. You’ll keep the property looking spotless, support the housekeeping team, and make sure every guest walks into a fresh, welcoming suite. It’s active, hands-on work – perfect if you’d rather move around than sit at a desk all day.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Delivering clean linens, towels, and supplies to guest suites and housekeeping carts
- Removing trash and laundry from floors and transporting it to designated areas
- Assisting housekeepers with heavier tasks and room turnovers during check-out rushes
- Cleaning and maintaining public areas: lobby, hallways, stairwells, elevators, pool deck, and parking areas
- Vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, and light maintenance touch-ups
- Operating laundry equipment – washing, drying, folding, and stocking linens
- Responding to guest requests for extra amenities with a friendly smile
- Reporting maintenance issues to supervisors
Why Old Orchard Beach?
Old Orchard Beach is a classic American seaside town packed with summer energy. Ride the roller coaster at Palace Playland, watch fireworks light up the ocean every Thursday night, eat fresh lobster rolls and famous Pier fries, and join beach bonfires with international students from all over the world. Portland is just 20 minutes away, and Boston is an easy weekend trip – with New York, Montreal, and the White Mountains all within reach.
Pay & Benefits
- $16.50 per hour – well above the U.S. federal minimum wage
- 35 guaranteed hours per week, with potential for extra hours during peak season
- Long Summer to Fall season – more weeks means more savings for travel
- Supportive, student-friendly management with experience hosting Work & Travel participants
- Real U.S. hospitality experience for your CV and daily English practice
- A ready-made international friend group in a walkable beach town
