Live the Ultimate American Beach Summer at Palace Playland

Imagine clocking in to the sound of roller coaster screams, carousel music, and waves crashing just meters away. As an Amusement Park Attendant at ace Playland Amusement in Old Orchard Beach, Maine, you'll be at the heart of New England's most iconic seaside amusement park — a place where thousands of families create summer memories every single day, and where you'll create your own.

This Work & Travel USA position runs from 08 June 2026 to 07 September 2026, perfectly matching the university summer break. You'll earn $17.00 per hour for approximately 32 hours per week, giving you solid earnings plus genuine free time to explore, travel, and enjoy the beach lifestyle you came for.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

  • Operating rides and attractions — running control panels, dispatching riders, and keeping the fun flowing safely
  • Greeting and assisting guests — checking tickets and wristbands, answering questions, giving directions with a smile
  • Enforcing safety standards — checking height requirements, securing restraints, and delivering clear safety instructions
  • Managing queue lines — keeping crowds organised, informed, and in good spirits
  • Running midway games and attractions — encouraging players, awarding prizes, and bringing the energy
  • Maintaining a clean, welcoming area — tidying ride platforms, queue zones, and guest spaces
  • Reporting maintenance needs — working closely with your team and supervisors to keep everything running smoothly

Why Old Orchard Beach?

Old Orchard Beach is a legendary Maine summer destination — seven miles of golden sand, a historic pier stretching into the Atlantic, and a boardwalk packed with arcades, fried dough stands, lobster rolls, and live music. It's a small, walkable, incredibly friendly town where the international student community is huge and the summer social scene is unbeatable.

Best of all, you're perfectly positioned for weekend adventures: Portland (Maine's coolest food city) is 20 minutes away, Boston is under 2 hours by car or train, and New York City is an easy long-weekend trip. Acadia National Park, the White Mountains, and countless lighthouses and coastal towns are all within reach.

What's In It For You

  • Competitive $17/hour wage — well above the US federal minimum
  • Consistent 32-hour work weeks with time left to actually enjoy America
  • Work outdoors, by the ocean, in one of the most fun environments imaginable
  • Meet students from dozens of countries and build friendships that last for years
  • Real-world experience in customer service, safety operations, and teamwork — impressive on any CV
  • Dramatically improve your spoken English through daily guest interaction
  • Full training provided — no prior experience needed

Who We're Looking For

  • University students aged 18–25 eligible for the J-1 Work & Travel USA visa
  • Conversational English — you'll be talking to guests all day long
  • An outgoing, positive personality and genuine enjoyment of working with people
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in summer weather
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong safety mindset
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays — that's when the park comes alive
  • Willingness to commit to the full 08 June – 07 September 2026 season
