Your American Summer Starts on the Shores of Lake Champlain
Imagine waking up to misty mornings over Lake Champlain, working alongside students from all over the world, and finishing your shift with a sunset swim or a kayak ride across the water. That's everyday life at Basin Harbor in Vergennes, Vermont – a historic 700-acre lakeside resort that has welcomed guests since 1886 and Work & Travel students for decades.
We're hiring Resort Workers for the Summer to Fall season, and we're looking for energetic university students who want more than just a job – you want a story worth telling back home.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Resort Worker, you'll be part of the team that keeps our guests smiling. Depending on where you're placed, your duties may include:
- Assisting in food and beverage outlets – serving, bussing tables, hosting, and supporting the dining room team
- Helping in the kitchen with food preparation, dishwashing, and keeping stations clean and organized
- Housekeeping duties in guest cottages and rooms – making beds, refreshing linens, and preparing spaces for arriving guests
- Supporting front desk, recreation, and grounds teams during busy resort days
- Delivering warm, friendly service and answering guest questions about the resort and the area
No prior experience is required – full training is provided. What matters most is your attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn.

What We're Looking For
- University students aged 18–25 with a valid J-1 Work & Travel visa
- Conversational English and confidence talking to guests
