Seward Windsong Lodge is a hotel in Seward, Alaska, over 50 miles from Anchorage, operated as part of the Alaska Collection by Pursuit. Positions include Laundry/Room Attendant, Busser, Host, Room Inspector and Prep Cook, so you can work in housekeeping, the restaurant or the kitchen. Housing owned or arranged by the employer is guaranteed for everyone hired, though you may also find your own, and a second job is likely to be available.
The job as Host
What you'll do
- Accurately and efficiently handle dining area monetary transactions and provide excellent guest service to enhance the dining experience for all guests while following the establishment's guidelines
- Set up host/cashier station for the shift
- Take reservations, plot seating assignments, acknowledge, greet and seat all guests in a timely fashion
- Close tickets and tender change as needed
- Tender credit cards and room charges
- Close and balance assigned till, account for food served and monies collected for the shift, properly prepare and submit paperwork for night audit
- Balance and return bank and any required paperwork (deposits, negative drops, change requests etc.) to accounting
- Acknowledge and understand daily menu changes
- Take to-go orders
- Keep work areas neat and clean throughout the shift
- Ensure excellent guest service for all guests
- Perform side work duties
- Other duties as assigned

Pay and hours
Housing
Windsong Lodge provides housing in either dorm-style dry cabin/container units or apartment-style units with bedrooms, a kitchen, bathroom and TV. You share a bedroom with 1–3 others (2–4 per room) and common areas with other staff. Bedding and towels, WiFi, equipped kitchens and complimentary onsite laundry are included.
