About the employer
Atlantic Sands Hotel is a hotel and conference center in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, operated by Sands Inc. It sits on the North Boardwalk, just feet from the white sands of one of the cleanest beaches in America and next to the town's famous mile-long boardwalk.
Rehoboth Beach is Delaware's largest beach resort and is known as the "Nation's Summer Capital", with golfing, biking, fishing, arcades, restaurants, live entertainment and tax-free shopping. As a seasonal employee you'll work as part of a team in a busy hotel during the peak summer months, meeting guests from across the USA and beyond, with the beach and town right outside.
The job as Housekeeper
What you'll do
- Removing and collecting linens for laundering and transporting them to designated areas
- Cleaning rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner
- Dusting furniture and equipment
- Emptying wastebaskets and cleaning them inside and out
- Cleaning tiled floors with the use of brooms and mops
- Using chemical-based products to clean tubs, sinks, countertops, mirrors, toilets, door panels and shower curtains
- Replenishing trash bags, soaps, bathroom items, and other supplies
- Removing items from refrigerator, stove and microwave
- Cleaning refrigerator, stove, microwave, and any additional appliances inside and out
- Demonstrating a high level of customer service, responding to and taking appropriate action to resolve concerns and complaints of guests
- Keeping supervisor/manager informed of situations relating to facility operation, patron complaints or concerns, accidents, emergency situations, damages and potential safety hazards
- Performing all duties in a safe manner

Housing
The employer does not provide housing, but community housing options are available in the area. Arrange your accommodation as soon as you are hired and before you travel to the United States, as options are very limited. Contact your employer for assistance; if you travel alone, your employer or agent can group you with other students at the same location.
