Imagine starting your workday with the smell of salt air drifting in from the Atlantic, lobster boats humming out of the harbor, and guests arriving excited for their Maine vacation. As a Front Desk Clerk at Lafayette Hotels – Boothbay Harbor Inn, you’ll be the first smile every visitor sees and the person who turns a good stay into an unforgettable one.

This is a Work & Travel USA position built for university students who love people, want real hospitality experience on their CV, and dream of spending a summer (and a spectacular New England autumn) on the coast of Maine.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Greeting and checking guests in and out with warmth and professionalism
• Answering phone calls, emails and reservation inquiries
• Processing payments and managing the hotel’s booking system
• Recommending local restaurants, boat tours, hiking trails and hidden gems
• Handling guest requests and solving small problems quickly and politely
• Keeping the lobby and front desk area tidy and welcoming
• Coordinating with housekeeping and management to keep everything running smoothly

What We’re Looking For

• University students aged 18–25 eligible for the Work & Travel USA program
• Good conversational English – you’ll be talking with guests all day
• A friendly, positive attitude and genuine desire to help people
• Reliability, punctuality and a professional appearance
• Basic computer skills; hotel software training is provided
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
• Ability to stay calm and courteous during busy check-in rushes
