About the employer
Rangeley IGA is a grocery store in the small town of Rangeley, Maine, less than 50 miles from Farmington, part of Adams Home Town Market. Positions include cashier, grocery clerk, produce clerk, deli clerk and bakery clerk, so you would be working with customers and stock throughout the store. Housing is employer-owned or employer-arranged and guaranteed for everyone hired, with residence there required, and a second job is likely to be available.
The job as Bakery Clerk
What you'll do
- Arrange and display all bakery items in an appealing and organized manner based on store plan-o-grams
- Rotate products to ensure that the older items are sold before the new ones (First in, First Out)
- Inspect incoming shipments of produce for quality and freshness
- Remove any damaged or expired items to maintain highest level of quality
- Maintain quality standards of product throughout shift, working in a damage-free manner
- Monitor inventory levels and restock areas as needed
- Assist customers in locating and selecting fresh produce
- Provide information on various fruits and vegetables as needed
- Answer customer inquiries and address any concerns or issues related to the department, communicating accordingly to leadership
- Keep the produce department clean and sanitized, including display bins and shelves
- Remove products that do not meet store quality standards and dispose of according to store policies
- Communicate effectively with management regarding inventory levels, sales and any issues within the produce department
- Ensure accurate pricing and labeling of all items and update/change price tags as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Housing
Housing is employer-arranged and you are required to stay there. You'll live in fully furnished, gender-specific houses with full kitchens and shared living/dining rooms. Rooms are shared by 1 to 6 people. WiFi (sometimes spotty in secluded Rangeley), reliable cell service and laundry in some houses or at the town laundromat are available.
