Job duties
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, showers, sinks, and mirrors
- Make beds and replace linens and pillowcases
- Dust furniture, fixtures, and surfaces
- Vacuum carpets and mop hard floors
- Empty trash and replace liners
- Replenish guest amenities (towels, toiletries, coffee supplies, etc.)
- Inspect rooms for damage, missing items, or maintenance issues and report findings
- Clean and maintain lobbies, hallways, stairwells, elevators, and restrooms
- Wipe down high-touch surfaces such as door handles, railings, and elevator buttons
- Ensure public spaces are tidy, stocked, and welcoming
- Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens and towels
- Properly handle soiled or damaged linens according to hotel standards
- Track and restock housekeeping carts and storage areas
- Report low inventory levels to supervisors
- Follow hotel cleaning standards and safety procedures
- Use cleaning chemicals and equipment properly
- Comply with OSHA and infection-control guidelines
- Respond politely to guest requests and questions
- Maintain guest privacy and confidentiality
- Coordinate with front desk and maintenance teams
- Perform deep-cleaning tasks as scheduled
- Assist with special projects or seasonal cleaning
- Adhere to time standards and productivity expectations

SB Port Inn and Suites Kennebunk is looking for energetic university students to join its Housekeeping team for the Summer to Fall season – one of the most beautiful times of the year on the Maine coast.
Kennebunk and neighbouring Kennebunkport are among New England’s most beloved seaside destinations, famous for their beaches, lobster shacks, boutique shops and friendly small-town atmosphere. Working here means you get to live like a local in a place most tourists only visit for a weekend.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Cleaning and preparing guest rooms and suites to a high standard – making beds, changing linens and towels
- Dusting, vacuuming, mopping and sanitising bathrooms and living areas
- Restocking guest amenities, toiletries and supplies
- Keeping hallways, common areas and housekeeping storage tidy and organised
- Collecting and sorting laundry and reporting maintenance issues to your supervisor
- Greeting guests with a smile and helping deliver a memorable stay
Position Highlights
- Hourly Rate: $15.10 per hour
- Tips: Yes – guests in this area are known for tipping housekeepers generously
- Hours: Approximately 38 hours per week, with the possibility of extra hours during peak season
- Season: Summer to Fall – enjoy warm beach days and the start of Maine’s famous autumn foliage
- Location: Kennebunk, Maine – close to Portland (approx. 30 min) and Boston (approx. 1.5 hr)
