The job as Grocery Store Clerk
What you'll do
- Completing sales transactions, entering sales in cash register, taking money, counting out correct change, and packing items in bags for customers
- Handling all types of food
- Greeting customers and providing excellent customer service
- Stocking shelves and inventory of items
- Using powered equipment such as deli slicers, bakeshop ovens and trash compactors
- Maintaining cleanliness in all areas including stockrooms, coolers, freezers, floors and checkout areas
- Collecting shopping carts from the parking lot and bringing them to the store front

Housing
Stop and Shop provides housing conditionally, depending on your arrival date and other factors. You share a room with 2 to 6 people and get a bed, sheets, towels and an initial set of toilet paper and paper towels. Each house has a common area, a working kitchen with refrigerator, microwave and stove, laundry on site or nearby, and some houses also offer cable TV and internet.
