That’s everyday life when you join The Sweet Spot at 1718 Atlantic Avenue as a Sweet Team Member on the Work & Travel USA program. Located right in the heart of the famous Virginia Beach Oceanfront, this candy and sweets shop is where vacationing families, beach lovers and boardwalk strollers come to treat themselves – and you’ll be the friendly face that makes their day a little sweeter.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Welcoming customers with a big smile and helping them choose from a colourful world of candy, chocolate, ice cream and treats
- Preparing and serving sweets, drinks and grab-and-go items
- Operating the cash register and handling card and cash payments
- Restocking shelves, refilling candy bins and keeping displays looking irresistible
- Keeping the shop, counters and equipment clean, tidy and up to US health standards
- Supporting your teammates during the busy summer rush on the boardwalk
Your Package
- $13.00 per hour – paid on top with tips, which add up fast in a busy tourist location
- Up to 60 hours per week – excellent earning potential for students who want to save and travel
- Summer to Fall season – enjoy the peak season energy and the calmer, beautiful early autumn at the beach

What We’re Looking For
- University students aged 18–25 on the Work & Travel USA program
- Conversational English and confidence talking to customers
- A positive, energetic attitude and a genuine smile
- Reliability, punctuality and willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in a busy environment
- No previous experience required – full training is provided
