Imagine starting your shift with the sunrise glowing over snow-capped peaks and finishing your day hiking to a turquoise alpine lake. At Belton Chalet by Pursuit in West Glacier, Montana, that’s just an ordinary day. This historic 1910 chalet sits at the doorstep of Glacier National Park – one of America’s most breathtaking wild places – and we’re looking for energetic international students to join our kitchen team as a Cook 1 (Prep Cook).
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Prep Cook, you’re the backbone of our kitchen. You’ll learn real culinary skills from experienced chefs while working with fresh, seasonal Montana ingredients.
- Prepare vegetables, proteins, sauces, soups, and salads according to recipes and chef instructions
- Set up and stock workstations before and during service
- Assist line cooks during busy breakfast and dinner services
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards at all times
- Receive and properly store deliveries, rotate stock, and monitor inventory
- Keep the kitchen, walk-ins, and equipment spotless and organized
- Support the team wherever needed – kitchens run on teamwork!

Compensation & Benefits
- $17.50 per hour – one of the strongest starting rates in the Work & Travel USA program
- 35 hours per week guaranteed, with opportunities for additional hours during peak season

What We’re Looking For
- University students aged 18–25 with valid J-1 Work & Travel sponsorship
- Conversational English and strong communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn – no professional experience required, just passion
- Ability to stand for long shifts and lift up to 20 kg
- Comfortable working early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Positive attitude and a genuine love of teamwork
- Availability from Summer through Fall (longer stays highly valued)
