Your Summer in the Heart of Glacier Country
Imagine finishing your shift and walking straight into one of the most breathtaking landscapes on the planet — snow-capped peaks, turquoise glacial lakes, pine forests and skies filled with stars. That’s everyday life when you join Glacier Park by Pursuit at the historic Belton Chalet in West Glacier, Montana, just minutes from the entrance to Glacier National Park.
We’re hiring Dishwashers for our Summer to Fall season. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role at the very center of our kitchen operation — perfect for university students who want to earn solid money, build real work experience in American hospitality, and spend their days off exploring a true natural wonder.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Operating commercial dishwashing machines to clean plates, glassware, cutlery and cookware
- Hand-washing pots, pans and delicate items used by our chefs
- Keeping the dish pit, kitchen floors and work stations clean, organized and safe
- Sorting and returning clean items to their proper stations so service runs smoothly
- Taking out trash, recycling and compost, and supporting basic kitchen prep when needed
- Following health, sanitation and food-safety standards at all times
- Working as part of a tight-knit international kitchen team during busy meal periods
Why West Glacier, Montana?
West Glacier is the western gateway to Glacier National Park — over one million acres of alpine wilderness known as the “Crown of the Continent.” Belton Chalet itself is a beautifully restored 1910 Swiss-style landmark and one of the park’s original railway hotels, listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
On your days off you can hike the legendary Going-to-the-Sun Road, kayak on Lake McDonald, spot grizzly bears, mountain goats and bald eagles, raft the Middle Fork of the Flathead River, or simply relax in a mountain town where the air smells like cedar and campfire. In the fall, the valley turns gold and the crowds fade — the locals’ favorite season.
What You’ll Get
- $16.00 per hour — a strong, reliable wage
- 35 hours per week, with the possibility of extra hours during peak periods
- Employee housing options and staff meal benefits (details provided by the employer)
- Employee discounts on Pursuit attractions, tours, lodging and retail
- Access to staff activities, hikes and social events with a young international team
- A U.S. work reference and hospitality experience that stands out on any CV
- Real English-language practice with American colleagues and guests every day
What We’re Looking For
- University students aged 18–25 on a Work & Travel USA (J-1) program
- Conversational English — enough to understand instructions and communicate with the team
- Strong work ethic, reliability and a positive, team-first attitude
- Ability to stand for long shifts, work in a warm, humid kitchen and lift up to 20 kg
- Comfort with a fast pace, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Availability from summer through fall — flexibility for the full season is a big plus
- An adventurous spirit and a genuine love of the outdoors
