Detail the Fleet That Powers Alaskan Adventures

Ever wanted to spend a summer in the wildest, most breathtaking state in America? HAP Fairbanks Transportation Division is looking for energetic Work & Travel students to join their team as Fleet Detailers in Fairbanks, Alaska. Every day, hundreds of travelers board motorcoaches and vans that take them to Denali National Park, the Arctic Circle and beyond — and you’ll be the one making sure those vehicles look absolutely spotless before they roll out.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Fleet Detailer, your day is active, hands-on and refreshingly free of desk work. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Washing, rinsing and drying the exterior of motorcoaches, vans and support vehicles
  • Vacuuming interiors, cleaning windows, wiping down seats, dashboards and luggage compartments
  • Restocking vehicles with supplies and checking that everything is guest-ready
  • Moving vehicles around the yard and staging them for morning departures
  • Keeping the wash bay, tools and detailing equipment organized and clean
  • Reporting any damage, maintenance issues or safety concerns to your supervisor
  • Supporting the transportation team with light general duties as needed

Why Fairbanks, Alaska?

Fairbanks is the gateway to the Alaskan Interior and one of the most unique Work & Travel destinations on the planet. In summer you’ll experience the famous Midnight Sun — up to 21 hours of daylight, meaning you can hike, kayak or play baseball at midnight. As the season turns toward fall, the tundra explodes into gold and red, and the skies come alive with the first Northern Lights of the year.

On your days off, soak in the Chena Hot Springs, take a day trip to Denali National Park to spot moose, caribou and grizzly bears, float down the Chena River, or visit the Museum of the North. Fairbanks is a friendly, student-packed college town with an easy pace, welcoming locals and an outdoor lifestyle you simply can’t find anywhere else in the USA.

Why Students Love This Job
