Imagine starting your workday under a sun that never really sets, surrounded by boreal forests, glacial rivers and the promise of the northern lights by season’s end. HAP Fairbanks Transportation Division is looking for energetic university students to join its team as Luggage Handlers in Fairbanks, Alaska – one of the most unforgettable Work & Travel USA destinations on the map.

This is a hands-on hospitality role at the front line of guest arrivals and departures, perfect for students who like staying active, meeting travellers from all over the world and finishing each shift knowing they made someone’s Alaskan adventure smoother.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Loading and unloading guest luggage from motorcoaches, shuttles, trains and hotel vehicles
  • Tagging, sorting and organising bags accurately so every suitcase reaches the right room or coach
  • Delivering luggage to guest rooms and assisting with special requests
  • Greeting arriving guests warmly and answering basic questions about the property and Fairbanks
  • Keeping luggage storage areas, carts and entrances tidy, safe and well organised
  • Working closely with front desk, tour and transportation teams during busy arrival waves

What We’re Looking For

  • University students aged 18–25 eligible for the J-1 Work & Travel USA programme
  • Good physical condition – you’ll be lifting bags and on your feet for most of the shift
  • Conversational English and a friendly, guest-focused attitude
  • Reliability, punctuality and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Availability for the full summer-to-fall season
