Spend Your Summer on Maine’s Most Beloved Beach
Imagine finishing your shift and walking two minutes to a seven-mile stretch of golden sand, with the Atlantic breeze in your hair and the sound of the Palace Playland amusement park in the background. That’s everyday life when you join King Real Estate Old Orchard Beach Inn as a Front Desk Agent for the Work & Travel USA program.
Old Orchard Beach is one of New England’s classic summer resort towns – a lively, welcoming place packed with international students, beach bonfires, live music, lobster shacks and a legendary pier. It’s the kind of place where a summer job turns into the story you tell for the next ten years.
What You’ll Be Doing
As the first face guests see, you’ll be the heart of the inn’s hospitality experience. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming guests at check-in and processing check-outs efficiently and warmly
- Answering phone calls, emails and walk-in inquiries about rooms, rates and availability
- Managing reservations in the property management system and handling payments
- Recommending local beaches, restaurants, attractions and events to curious travelers
- Coordinating with housekeeping and maintenance to keep guest rooms in top shape
- Resolving guest questions and requests with a calm, friendly, solution-focused attitude
- Keeping the lobby and front desk area tidy, organized and inviting

- Position: Front Desk Agent
- Location: Old Orchard Beach, Maine

Why You’ll Love This Job
With a solid $16.50 per hour and a guaranteed 40-hour work week, this is one of the most stable and rewarding roles in the program. Front desk experience looks fantastic on a CV – you’ll build real skills in customer service, communication, problem-solving and hospitality software, all while speaking English every single day with American and international guests.
Because the season runs from summer into fall, you’ll also get to experience Maine’s spectacular autumn – think crisp air, fiery foliage and quieter beaches – something most summer participants never see.
Life in Old Orchard Beach
Your free time will be anything but boring. Swim and sunbathe on the beach, ride the roller coaster at Palace Playland, watch fireworks over the pier on Thursday nights, try fried dough and fresh lobster rolls, and join the huge community of international students who make OOB their summer home. Portland, Maine’s foodie capital, is a short train or bus ride away, and Boston is easily reachable for weekend trips.
