At La Mer Beachfront Resort in Cape May, New Jersey, that’s just an ordinary day. We’re looking for energetic, reliable university students to join our Housekeeping team for the Summer to Fall season on the Work & Travel USA program.
About the Position
As a Housekeeping Attendant, you are the reason guests fall in love with their stay. You’ll be part of a friendly, fast-moving international team that takes pride in creating spotless, welcoming rooms for families and vacationers from all over the United States.
- Clean and refresh guest rooms, bathrooms, and public areas to resort standards
- Change linens, make beds, and restock amenities and supplies
- Vacuum, dust, mop, and sanitize surfaces
- Report maintenance issues and lost-and-found items to your supervisor
- Assist guests with friendly service and answer basic questions
- Support the laundry department when needed
Pay & Working Hours
- Hourly rate: $16.00 per hour
- Hours: 36 hours per week (overtime often available in peak season)
- Tips: Yes – guests regularly leave gratuities for great housekeeping service, boosting your weekly earnings
- Season: Summer through Fall

What We’re Looking For
- University students aged 18–25 eligible for the J-1 Work & Travel USA visa
- Intermediate conversational English
- Physically fit – the role involves standing, bending, and lifting throughout the shift
- Attention to detail and pride in a job done well
- Positive attitude, punctuality, and teamwork spirit
- Availability for weekends and holidays (the busiest resort days)
- Previous cleaning or hotel experience is a plus but not required – full training provided
