What You'll Be Doing

As a Dish Steward, you are the backbone of the kitchen – the person who keeps everything running smoothly so the chefs can shine. Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Operating commercial dishwashing machines and hand-washing pots, pans and kitchen utensils
  • Keeping dish areas, sinks and equipment clean, organised and sanitised
  • Restocking clean dishes, glassware and cutlery for the kitchen and dining room teams
  • Assisting with basic food prep and receiving deliveries when needed
  • Taking out trash, recycling and helping maintain overall kitchen hygiene standards
  • Supporting your teammates during busy cruise-ship days with a positive, can-do attitude

About the Position

The Dish Steward is the backbone of every great kitchen. You'll keep the heart of the operation running smoothly, working side by side with chefs, cooks and servers from all over the world. No previous experience is required – just a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.

  • Operate the commercial dishwasher and wash dishes, glassware, cutlery and cooking equipment
  • Keep the dish pit, kitchen floors and work stations clean, organized and sanitary
  • Sort, store and restock clean china, utensils and pots and pans
  • Take out trash, break down boxes and assist with recycling and waste management
  • Support the kitchen team with basic prep tasks and stock rotation when needed
  • Follow all health, safety and food-handling standards

  • Support the housekeeping team by delivering linens, towels and supplies to guest rooms and floors
