Imagine waking up to misty mountain views, spending your workday organizing lakeside games, kayak rentals and campfire s’mores, and finishing your shift with a swim in one of the clearest lakes in New York State. That’s daily life as an Activities Attendant at Olympia Companies – The Lodge at Schroon Lake, a beautifully reimagined resort in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains.
This is a Work & Travel USA position built for outgoing, energetic university students who love people, the outdoors and making memories that last far longer than one summer.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Welcoming guests to the recreation and activities center with a big smile and great energy
- Setting up, running and cleaning up daily activities: lawn games, arts & crafts, scavenger hunts, family field days, movie nights and s’mores by the fire pit
- Assisting with beach and waterfront operations – distributing kayaks, paddleboards, canoes, life jackets and towels
- Checking recreational equipment in and out, tracking inventory and keeping gear clean and safe
- Answering guest questions about the resort, local hiking trails, the lake and area attractions
- Maintaining tidy, safe and inviting activity spaces, pool decks and outdoor areas
- Supporting seasonal and holiday events alongside a fun, international team

The Package
- Pay: $18.00 per hour
- Hours: approximately 35 hours per week
- Season: Summer through Fall

What We’re Looking For
- University students aged 18–25 eligible for the Work & Travel USA program
- Conversational English and confidence speaking with guests of all ages
- Friendly, proactive and genuinely enthusiastic about the outdoors
- Reliable team player, comfortable working weekends, holidays and outdoors in all weather
- Able to stand for long periods and lift recreational equipment (up to ~25 kg)
- Positive attitude and a willingness to jump in wherever the team needs you
