Live and Work in the Heart of the Olympic Peninsula

Imagine waking up to mist rising off a glacier-carved lake, moss-draped trees older than your home country’s capital city, and the sound of rain tapping on the roof of a 1926 historic lodge. This isn’t a screensaver – it’s your summer. Aramark Destinations at Lake Quinault Lodge is looking for energetic university students to join the Front of House team in Quinault, Washington, one of the most beautiful corners of the United States.

About the Position

As a Resort Worker (Front of House), you’re the friendly face our guests meet first. You’ll be cross-trained across several guest-facing areas, which means no two shifts feel exactly the same and you’ll build a serious set of hospitality skills to take home with you.

  • Greeting and seating guests in the lodge restaurant with a warm, welcoming attitude
  • Taking orders, serving food and beverages, and answering questions about the menu
  • Assisting at the front desk, gift shop, or coffee bar depending on daily needs
  • Setting, clearing, and resetting tables; keeping dining and public areas spotless
  • Sharing local tips with guests – hiking trails, waterfalls, and the world’s largest Sitka spruce
  • Supporting teammates during busy check-in periods and special events

Pay & Schedule

  • Hourly rate: $16.66 per hour
  • Guaranteed hours: approximately 32 hours per week
  • Season: Summer through Fall – one of the longest and most stable seasons available
  • Tips: This position does not include tips, but the hourly rate is well above the national average
  • Overtime may be available during peak weeks, depending on business needs

Why Quinault, Washington?

Lake Quinault sits in the Quinault Rainforest – one of the only temperate rainforests on Earth – right on the edge of Olympic National Park. On your days off you can hike to waterfalls, kayak on the lake, spot Roosevelt elk, or drive to the wild Pacific coastline at Ruby Beach. Seattle and Portland are both within reach for weekend trips, and Canada isn’t far either.

The lodge itself is a legendary property: President Franklin D. Roosevelt dined here in 1937, and his visit helped inspire the creation of Olympic National Park. You’ll be working inside a piece of American history.

What You Get

  • Competitive, guaranteed pay in US dollars
  • Employee housing available on or near property (deducted from pay – ask your coordinator for current rates)
  • Discounted employee meals
  • Discounts at Aramark Destinations properties across the USA
  • An international team of students from around the world – lifelong friendships guaranteed
  • Real hospitality experience from a globally recognised employer for your CV
  • Daily English practice with native speakers

Who We’re Looking For

  • University students aged 18–25 on a valid J-1 Work & Travel visa
  • Conversational to good spoken English – you’ll be talking to guests all day
  • Friendly, positive, and genuinely enjoy helping people
  • Able to stand, walk, and lift moderate weight throughout a shift
  • Comfortable living in a remote, small-town natural setting (limited nightlife, incredible nature)
  • Flexible with schedules including weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Team players who are ready to say “yes” to new tasks

Important to Know

Quinault is a remote rural location. Mobile signal and shopping options are limited, and you should be prepared for rainy weather even in summer – that’s what makes the rainforest so green! Students who love nature, hiking, and a tight-knit community absolutely thrive here.

Spots at Lake Quinault Lodge fill fast every season. Apply now and make this summer the story you tell for the rest of your life.
