That’s everyday life at Basin Harbor in Vergennes, Vermont – a historic 700-acre lakeside resort that has welcomed guests since 1886 and Work & Travel students for decades.
We’re hiring Resort Workers for the Summer to Fall season, and we’re looking for energetic university students who want more than just a job – you want a story worth telling back home.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Resort Worker, you’ll be part of the team that keeps our guests smiling. Depending on where you’re placed, your duties may include:
- Assisting in food and beverage outlets – serving, bussing tables, hosting, and supporting the dining room team
- Helping in the kitchen with food preparation, dishwashing, and keeping stations clean and organized
- Housekeeping duties in guest cottages and rooms – making beds, refreshing linens, and preparing spaces for arriving guests
- Supporting front desk, recreation, and grounds teams during busy resort days
- Delivering warm, friendly service and answering guest questions about the resort and the area
No prior experience is required – full training is provided. What matters most is your attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn.

What We’re Looking For
- University students aged 18–25 with a valid J-1 Work & Travel visa
- Conversational English and confidence talking to guests
- A positive, team-first attitude and strong work ethic
- Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Availability from summer through the fall season
