About the Position: Housekeeping Crew
As a member of the Housekeeping Crew, you are the person who turns a room into a warm welcome after a long day of hiking, rafting and wildlife spotting. It is active, hands-on work – perfect if you would rather move around than sit behind a desk all summer.
Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Cleaning and refreshing guest rooms, bathrooms and cabins to Aramark’s high standards
- Changing bed linens, making beds and restocking towels and guest amenities
- Vacuuming, dusting, mopping and sanitising surfaces in rooms and public areas
- Collecting and transporting linens and rubbish to designated areas
- Reporting maintenance issues and lost-and-found items to your supervisor
- Working as part of an international team and helping colleagues during busy check-out periods
Pay & Working Conditions
- Hourly rate: $15.00 per hour
- Guaranteed hours: approximately 40 hours per week
- Season: Summer through Fall – one of the longest seasons available in Alaska
- Overtime: often available during peak weeks (paid according to US labour law)
- Tips: not applicable for this position – your income comes from a stable, reliable hourly wage
- Business type: Hospitality / national park lodge operations

Requirements
- Full-time university student, aged 18–25, eligible for the J-1 Work & Travel USA programme
- Conversational English – enough to understand instructions and communicate with your team and guests
- Availability from the start of summer through to the autumn season (long availability strongly preferred)
- Good physical condition: the role involves standing, walking, bending and lifting throughout your shift
- Reliable, punctual and detail-oriented with a positive team attitude
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays and rotating shifts
- Genuine excitement about living in a remote natural setting away from big-city life
