Imagine starting your shift as the sun paints the peaks of the Alaska Range gold, with the sound of the Nenana River outside and moose wandering past the lodge. This is not an ordinary summer job – this is Work & Travel USA in Denali National Park, one of the last great wildernesses on Earth.
Aramark Destinations Denali Park Village is looking for energetic university students to join its Kitchen Crew (Early Shift) for the summer-to-fall season. If you like getting things done early, working with a fun international team, and having your afternoons free to hike, raft and explore, this role was made for you.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assisting cooks with basic food preparation – washing, peeling, chopping and portioning ingredients
- Helping set up and run breakfast and early lunch service for hungry travellers
- Keeping kitchen stations, equipment and storage areas clean, organised and safe
- Washing dishes, pots and utensils and supporting dish room operations when needed
- Receiving and stocking deliveries, rotating products and following food safety standards
- Working as part of a team with cooks, servers and other kitchen crew members

Who We’re Looking For
- University students aged 18–25 eligible for the J-1 Work & Travel USA visa
- Conversational English and a positive, can-do attitude
- Reliable and punctual – early starts are part of the deal (be ready for 5–6 AM shifts)
- Comfortable standing for long periods and lifting up to 20–25 kg
- Team player who stays calm during busy breakfast rushes
- Flexible and ready to live in a remote, nature-first environment (limited shopping and nightlife – but unlimited views!)
- No previous kitchen experience required – training is provided
