Why Schroon Lake, New York?
Schroon Lake is a classic American summer town tucked inside Adirondack Park – the largest protected park in the continental United States, bigger than several U.S. states combined. Here you’ll find a nine-mile-long crystal-clear lake, sandy beaches, mountain summits with unforgettable views, free village concerts and firework nights over the water. Weekends are made for swimming, paddleboarding, hiking Mount Severance, or road-tripping to Lake George, Lake Placid, Montreal or New York City. And if you stay into fall, you’ll witness one of the most spectacular autumn foliage seasons on the planet – forests turning red, orange and gold in every direction.
Your Package
- $18.00 per hour – a strong, competitive wage for a front desk role
- 35 hours per week, with the possibility of a balanced schedule that leaves time to explore
- Season: Summer through Fall – enjoy two completely different Adirondack seasons
- Professional training and real hospitality experience with Olympia Companies, a respected U.S. hotel management group
- A supportive, international team environment and a genuine American resort-town experience
- Front desk work means indoor, comfortable conditions and constant English practice with native speakers
What We’re Looking For
- University students aged 18–25 eligible for the Work & Travel USA (J-1) program
- Good conversational English – you’ll be speaking with guests all day
- A friendly, service-minded personality and a professional appearance
- Reliability, punctuality and the ability to stay calm and polite when things get busy
- Basic computer skills; previous hotel, reception, retail or customer service experience is a plus (but not required)
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays and rotating shifts, as is normal in hospitality
- Availability from summer into the fall season
