As a Pool Lifeguard at Sea Colony Resort in Bethany Beach, Delaware, you’ll do exactly that – all while earning $17.50 per hour for 40 hours a week from summer into fall.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Supervising swimmers at indoor and outdoor pools, scanning your zone at all times
- Preventing accidents by enforcing pool rules in a friendly, professional way
- Responding quickly and calmly to emergencies, performing rescues and first aid when needed
- Testing and monitoring water chemistry and reporting any issues
- Keeping the pool deck clean, tidy and hazard-free, arranging chairs and equipment
- Greeting guests, answering questions and creating a welcoming atmosphere
- Completing daily logs and incident reports accurately

What We’re Looking For
- University students aged 18–25 eligible for the J-1 Work & Travel USA program
- Strong swimming ability – you must pass a swim test (typically 300m continuous swim, treading water, and brick retrieval)
- Lifeguard certification (American Red Cross or equivalent) – training can often be arranged upon arrival
- Good conversational English to communicate clearly with guests in all situations
- Alertness, maturity and the ability to stay calm under pressure
- Reliability, punctuality and a positive, team-first attitude
- Willingness to work outdoors in the sun, including weekends and holidays
Note: Tips are not part of this position – your earnings come from a high, stable hourly wage.
