The job as Lifeguard - Pool
What you'll do
- Enforce rules, regulations and ordinances established by the HOA Board of Directors, American Red Cross, National Weather Service, OSHA, etc.
- Respond to land and water emergencies and provide emergency medical care as needed and deemed appropriate.
- Perform rescues and assists when appropriate.
- Check safety equipment daily and notify supervisor if needed.
- Perform daily operations such as maintaining a clean area and checking pool chemistry.
- Communicate and interact with various departments when needed.
- Write incident reports.
- Maintain or improve swimming skills and athleticism to meet demands of the job.
- Participate in regularly scheduled training and drills.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Housing
The employer does not provide housing, but community options are available: a local contact houses most J-1s and managers share leads for others. Rooms are typically shared by up to 4 people, with shared living spaces, kitchens and bathrooms; there are no private rooms. The workplace is within biking distance and Bethany Beach also has buses and public transport.
