Imagine spending your Work & Travel USA summer just steps from the Atlantic Ocean, greeting guests at a boutique waterfront resort where sunsets over the bay are part of the daily view. The Reeds at Shelter Haven in Stone Harbor, New Jersey is looking for friendly, energetic international students to join our front-of-house team as a Host/Hostess.

This is your chance to build real hospitality experience at an award-winning property, practice your English every single day, and make friends from all over the world — while living the classic American beach-town summer.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Warmly greeting guests as they arrive and creating an unforgettable first impression
• Managing the reservation system, waitlists and seating charts
• Escorting guests to their tables and presenting menus
• Coordinating with servers, bartenders and managers to keep service flowing smoothly
• Answering phone calls, taking reservations and responding to guest questions
• Keeping the entrance and host stand clean, organised and welcoming
• Helping with light side duties such as resetting tables and assisting the service team during busy periods

What We’re Looking For

• University students aged 18–25 with valid J-1 Work & Travel sponsorship
• Good conversational English — you’ll be speaking with guests all day
• A genuine smile, positive attitude and professional appearance
• Ability to stay calm, organised and polite during busy dinner rushes
• Comfortable standing and walking for the duration of a shift
• Team players who are reliable, punctual and eager to learn
• Previous restaurant or customer service experience is a plus, but not required

Please note: this position does not include tips, but the hourly rate is fixed and guaranteed at $15.92 for all 40 weekly hours.
