The Reeds at Shelter Haven is a hotel in the seaside town of Stone Harbor, New Jersey, over 50 miles from Philadelphia, hiring for food and beverage roles such as beach server, food runner, bar back, host/hostess and busser. Housing is not provided, so you would need to arrange your own accommodation, but a second job is likely to be available if you want additional hours.
The job as Busser
What you'll do
- Clean tables, remove dirty dishes, replace soiled table linens, set tables.
- Replenish supply of clean linens, polish silverware, glassware and dishware.
- Serve items such as water, condiments and coffee to patrons.
- Clean equipment in food service areas or other areas of the restaurant; mop and vacuum floors.
- Clean up spilled food, drink or broken dishes, carry dishes and other tableware to kitchen for cleaning.
- Maintain/stock adequate supplies of items such as condiments, clean linens, silverware, glassware, dishes and trays during service.
- Locate items requested by customers, servers and management.
- Serve ice water, coffee, rolls or butter to patrons.
- Wipe tables and seats with dampened cloths or replace dirty tablecloths.
- Fill beverage and ice dispensers.
- Set and reset tables as needed pursuant to business demands or as requested by management.
- Assist in serving food to customers when waiters or waitresses need assistance.
- Clean and organize server storeroom areas and glassware storage.
- Additional duties may be added at the discretion of Reeds management.

The employer does not provide housing, but community housing options are available in the area. Students working in Stone Harbor generally find housing in the North Wildwood, Wildwood and Wildwood Crest areas. It is a good idea to start looking early to secure a place in one of these neighbourhoods.
