That’s a normal day at HAP Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge – one of Alaska’s most iconic riverside hotels and a favourite destination for travellers from all over the world.
We’re looking for energetic university students to join our kitchen team as Prep Cooks for the summer-to-fall season. No professional chef diploma required – just enthusiasm, reliability and a willingness to learn from experienced culinary professionals.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Washing, peeling, chopping and portioning fresh vegetables, fruits, meats and seafood
- Preparing sauces, stocks, salads, soups and other base ingredients following recipes
- Supporting line cooks and chefs during busy breakfast, lunch and dinner services
- Labelling, dating, rotating and storing products according to food safety standards
- Keeping workstations, equipment and walk-in coolers clean, organised and sanitised
- Receiving deliveries and helping with basic inventory tasks

What We’re Looking For
- University students aged 18–25 eligible for the J-1 Work & Travel USA program
- Conversational English and good communication skills
- Ability to stand for long shifts and lift up to 15–20 kg
- Reliable, punctual, hygienic and a strong team player
- Previous kitchen experience is a plus but absolutely not required
- Availability for the full summer-to-fall season, including weekends and holidays
