About the employer
The Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation operates hospitality, retail and entertainment venues in the small town of Medora, North Dakota, less than 50 miles from Dickinson. Positions include front desk representative, host/cashier, busser, kitchen crew, retail sales and ticketing roles, and theatre operations staff. Housing owned or arranged by the employer is guaranteed for everyone hired, though you may also find your own, and a second job is likely to be available.
The job as Kitchen Crew
What you'll do
- Ensuring the food preparation areas are clean and hygienic
- Washing utensils, dishes, pots, and pans and making sure they are stored appropriately
- Keep dish pit and storage areas cleaned and organized
- Assist with sorting, storing and distributing ingredients as needed
- Assist with washing, peeling, chopping, and cutting food as directed by the kitchen supervisor or back of house manager
- Dispose of garbage
- Clean the food preparation equipment, floors and other kitchen tools or areas
- May perform other duties as assigned

Housing
Housing is employer-provided: motel-style rooms and double-occupancy dormitory rooms, so you share with one other person. Blankets, pillows, towels and linens are provided, laundry is free and all TRMF buildings have WiFi. The housing sits on campus around the Life Skills Center, with a fitness center, dining center and lounges; there are no kitchens, but microwaves are available.

On your days off you can hike and spot wild bison, horses and prairie dogs in Theodore Roosevelt National Park, go horseback riding, play mini-golf, ride the Medora Gravity Slide, watch the world-famous Medora Musical under the open sky, or join the international student crew for BBQs, bonfires and road trips. Many students travel on to Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone and Chicago after the season ends.
