The Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation operates hospitality, retail and entertainment venues in the small town of Medora, North Dakota, less than 50 miles from Dickinson. Positions include front desk representative, host/cashier, busser, kitchen crew, retail sales and ticketing roles, and theatre operations staff. Housing owned or arranged by the employer is guaranteed for everyone hired, though you may also find your own, and a second job is likely to be available.
The job as Retail and Ticketing Representative
What you'll do
- Assist guests with questions regarding events, shows, and activities in and around Medora
- Sell and collect payment for tickets using several software systems
- Assist guests that need to book complicated orders and adjust and fix orders that have already been made
- Pay great attention to detail to make sure bookings are correct in every way to ensure guest satisfaction
- Sell, refold, and restock merchandise
- Promote sales of TRMF events and services by providing all customers with complete information and showing enthusiasm for these offerings
- Stay informed about Medora events and activities, attend weekly departmental informational meetings
- Greet customers and give each guest excellent customer service
- Become familiar with the products and share knowledge with customers
- Inform the customer about purchasing incentives
- Follow proper opening and closing procedures
- Operate POS software and ensure the proper checkout process is followed
- Report computer system problems to management timely to keep everything running smoothly
- Ensure the store is kept clean and organized, including vacuuming, mopping, washing windows and doors, straightening merchandise
- Participate in workplace safety training sessions

Housing
Housing is employer-provided: motel-style rooms and double-occupancy dormitory rooms, so you share with one other person. Blankets, pillows, towels and linens are provided, laundry is free and all TRMF buildings have WiFi. The housing sits on campus around the Life Skills Center, with a fitness center, dining center and lounges; there are no kitchens, but microwaves are available.
