My Work and Travel Summer in Alaska

It was my second time in the US that I went on Work and Travel. I had travelled quite a bit before, but never to Alaska. So I decided to go to Anchorage, Alaska, and spend my summer there. I worked in one of the gift shops downtown, called “Once in a Blue Moose”. If you walk down the 4th street in downtown Anchorage, you can instantly spot my work place because there is literally a moose figure sticking out of the building wall.
I have to admit that in the beginning it was much colder than I thought it would be. But August was extremely hot, like summer in Bulgaria, – that is exactly the opposite of what I expected from Alaska. My co-workers were so kind as to take me to climb the Flattop Mountain just outside of Anchorage. I saw Alaska from the height of 1070 meters and the view was just majestic!
What I enjoyed most, however, was travelling to Seward to go on a whale-watching tour. I saw humpbacks and orcas!
There are many things to do in Alaska, but I didn’t have time to do them all. What I enjoyed most, however, was travelling to Seward to go on a whale-watching tour. I saw humpbacks and orcas! And it was not only about whales, we saw so many birds and sea animals, and the boat navigator chased down every whale like he could feel them.
I am going to Alaska once again the upcoming summer and I recommend it to everyone!
