Williams Cottage Inn is an upscale bed and breakfast in Beach Haven, New Jersey, on Long Beach Island — just 50 yards from the entrance to the beach and the Atlantic Ocean. The Inn is a Victorian home built in 1881 and later renovated into a B&B. Its slogan is "Welcome Home", and most guests come back summer after summer.
As a seasonal student you help with the daily operations of a small, personal place where guests enjoy chatting with the international students on the team. The Inn owns an apartment with two bedrooms and two baths, three and a half blocks away and half a block from the beach, the city park and the Surflight Theatre.
The job as Operations Assistant
What you'll do
- Assist Management in serving breakfast each morning
- Do 'putbacks' (make the bed and refresh the room) for guests staying another night
- Clear the breakfast tables and do dishes
- Clean rooms that guests are leaving, including bedroom and bathroom
- Polish furniture and vacuum floors in common areas (grand foyer, parlor, powder room, formal dining room)
- Roll tableware in linen napkins
- Fold beach towels
- Carry trash bags to outside garbage bins
- Visit with guests as much as possible
- In June, assist in detailing guest rooms and common areas to prepare for the high season

Housing
Housing is employer-owned and required: a condo/apartment with 2 bedrooms and 2 private bathrooms, plus a small living room with a queen pull-out sofa. It includes WiFi (Comcast), air conditioning, bedding/linen, a fully equipped kitchen, basement laundry and bike storage. It sits 3 1/2 blocks north of Williams Cottage on Atlantic Avenue, half a block from the beach.
