The promotional discount of $300 from the standard price of the program with CIEE sponsor for season 2027 is applicable to agreements signed by 30.10.2026. After the above mentioned date other promotional initiatives are possible, but at a lower discount.
All program payments can be made in US dollars or in Euro at the “sell” rate for US dollars of “DSK Bank” JSC on the day of payment.

The price of a flight to the USA depends mainly on where you need to travel. Tickets to cities such as New York, Boston and Chicago are the cheapest, while flights to the West Coast or Alaska cost more, being further away.

Standard payment for the programme
When you sign up you pay a small initial instalment – a deposit of $199.
You make the next payments only once you have found a job and it is time to issue your visa documents. That way you can plan your budget more easily at every stage.
You choose how to make each payment – by card or in cash at our office, or by bank transfer.
Program and flight ticket in instalments
If you choose the Sponsor Assisted Job Interview option and prefer to pay equal monthly instalments from sign-up until departure, this is for you.
- PROGRAMME: you sign up with a $199 deposit and pay equal instalments towards the programme fee each month until you leave.
- FLIGHT TICKET: you can also pay for this in instalments, the first falling a month after you sign up.
- Government fees are paid when the authorities require them.
Instalments for the programme and the ticket are calculated from your sign-up month and the price at that time. There is no surcharge for paying in instalments.
Program Credit from Usit
If you choose the Sponsor Assisted Job Interview option and would like to pay part of the cost later, you can apply for a credit from Usit. Once approved, you sign up for the programme and pay the first instalment of $199, and then:
- You pay the remainder of the programme price and the financing costs in three instalments, in July, August and September.
- If you wish, you can also pay for your flight ticket on credit, again over three instalments.
- Visa fees are paid from your own funds when the authorities require them.
Places for Usit Colours financing are limited and the option is available until they run out. Ask at any of our offices for details.

Work and Travel USA has quotas set by the US State Department, and you can only sign up while the quota lasts.

How much does the program actually cost with all expenses included?
The total investment required to depart ranges between €2,400 and €2,900, depending on whether you choose a program option with a job offer provided or self-arranged placement. The flight ticket is the other expense that can vary significantly based on your dates and destination. This amount includes:

Do I need to budget for any other expenses around my departure?
Yes, it is recommended to have around $1,000 to cover your living expenses in the U.S. before receiving your first paycheck. In practice, your actual costs may be well below this amount, as you will likely have already paid your housing deposit, and your rent for the first two weeks will most likely be deducted directly from your paycheck.
Does the time I register matter for the final price of the program?
Yes, tremendously – early registration gives you the advantage of paying a lower overall program fee.

Lower Program Costs: Registering in October or November gets you the best possible rate. In the following months, the program price gradually increases by $200–$300.

Cheaper Flights: Booking your airfare earlier guarantees a wider selection of flight options and much better ticket prices.

Better Job Selection: Early registration is an investment in access to the best job offers – as time goes on, the most attractive positions fill up quickly and are no longer available.
How do payments work for upfront vs. deferred costs?
You do not need to pay the entire amount at once. Depending on your financial plan, costs are structured in one of three options:

Staged Payments: You sign up with an initial deposit. Subsequent installments are due as you reach specific milestones in the application process.

Equal Monthly Installments: You split the total program fee into equal monthly payments, determined by the month you register. This option can also be applied to cover your airfare.

Specialized Usit Credit: You enroll with a deposit, and your monthly installments only begin after you arrive in the U.S. and receive your first few paychecks. This is an in-house service provided directly by Usit rather than a bank loan product (details available at Usit offices).
How much is withheld if my visa is denied?
If a visa is refused without an optional protection plan, standard administrative and processing fees (typically around $300–$350 / ~€350) plus non-refundable state fees (such as the SEVIS and Embassy visa fees) are retained to cover the documentation and processing services already rendered.
However, options like Easy Program Cancellation ($135) protect your investment: if your visa is denied or your plans change, all core program payments are refunded, with only the initial deposit ($199) and mandatory non-refundable third-party fees (such as embassy/SEVIS charges) withheld.
Does Usit offer credit options for the program?
Yes, Usit offers its own specialized program credit designed specifically for participants. This is an in-house financing plan – not a bank loan – tailored around the structure of the Work & Travel program to make it as convenient as possible.

Initial Outlay: Upon approval and signing the agreement, you only pay an initial deposit of $199. All other remaining program fees are covered by the financing.

Flight Ticket: You can also extend this financing option to cover your round-trip airfare.

Deferred Repayment: Monthly installments are due in July, August, and September—when you are already working in the U.S., receiving paychecks, and able to comfortably pay off the loan.
